Hello all! We're kicking off the festive season with a post on Snow Magick! We will also cover ice as well since the two go hand in hand! So, the easiest point to cover is that both snow and ice are different forms of water and can be used in water rituals and magick as a whole as well as for their own individual uses. We have several posts on the uses of water for those who want some extra reading! I know that I have barely scratched the surface when it comes to working with the elements - I haven't even started on working with ELEMENTALS, but that will be a whole other post, or maybe a couple of posts!   Hi Guys, Continuing or Spirits part of the elements series today, we are looking at ways to communicate with Spirit, concentrating mainly on the tools I have used. If you have a preferred method, please let us know in the comments below. The way I think of communicating with spirit, is to help others by guidance through messages received and passing on these massages to others. We have a TikTok channel on which I deliver daily (or mostly daily) card readings.   Hi Guys, So, moving on to our final of the elements this week with Spirit. Although not considered a classical element, as the other four are (mainly because it is not physical), it is in this series as it is used in Magickal works. Also sometimes referred to as Akasha, Aether or quintessence (Latin for the fifth element). It is represented by The Fool card in Tarot. Its planet is the Sun. It is linked to the colours:  white,  silver,  gold,  purple and  violet.   Hi Guys, I have decided to resurrect our Symbols Series to complete our Air elements week. I know that I haven't covered the symbols of the other elements, so I will do a post tying them all up together after next week's Spirit week. There is more than one symbol, of course! The most common one that we think of is the Alchemical symbol of a triangle with a horizontal line near the top, as seen below. This represents life-giving force and is usually associated with the colours of blue and white. It is the Earth symbol inverted. Aristotle stated that Air represented wetness and heat. Hippocrates associated Air with blood. This symbol was first introduced by Chinese Taoist Lao Tzu, who described Air as being able to transform anything into something else - without a physical change taking place!  It is also said to adorn many Books of Shadows or Grimoires, as it is strongly connected to spell work. Wouldn't listen to the training, though, so we didn't keep him on. lol. This beauty above is an atrocalopteryx atrata, according to a reverse image search. Although, it says they are native to Asia, they have either spread, or this is a slightly different genus. I am no entomologist, so please do correct me if I am wrong. Damselflies, and dragonflies, symbolise both air and water as elemental associations, generally, they hatch under water, and take to the air one they have transformed from the larval stage. It is hard when researching to differentiate the two species in mythology and cultures, some believed that the damselfly was a female dragonfly, although they are distinctly different.   Hi guys, Moving on with our elements series this week, we are onto the element of air. I know we missed the Flora Friday of Fire week due to the sad passing of Queen Elizabeth II, so we will revisit that at some point soon. So, onto our penultimate in the elements series: Air corresponds to the East in cardinal compass points. It links to many of the other elements too. It feeds fire, it drives clouds (element of water), it shapes the Earth and is very closely linked to Spirit (next week's topic). Planetary associations: Mercury, Jupiter, Uranus. In Popular Culture Twisters are referenced in many films, Twister and The Wizard of Oz to name but two. It could be argued that films such as Airplane! are also linked, as it is to do with flight. Any comedy is linked to air, as laughter is a form of both breathwork and raising vibrations. (More on those in later posts).
