Hello all! Today, we're looking at Bibliomancy! What Is Bibliomancy? Bibliomancy is a form of divination that uses books, sometimes specific books and variations of it can be found in many different practices around the world. Traditionally, books designed for this kind of divination and Holy texts such as the Bible have been used as well as the Qur'an, which had specific passages for divination in Iran, Turkey and India  There is a subcategory of this called Rhapsodomancy , which uses poems to accomplish the same thing  Methods   There are a couple of way to go about using Bibliomancy, let's have a look at some of them: Method One - If you walk past a bookshelf or place where books are kept and a book falls down, either on the shelf or off the shelf, then that book is trying to tell you something. Emporiblog - Keys

Image
Hello all! Today we're going to look at something I'm surprised we haven't already covered: keys!!! The History of Keys - Quick Version  The oldest believed example of a key and it's accompanying lock system was found in the ruins of Nineveh , the capital of Assyria (which is now part of modern day Iraq and Syria) and is around 6000 years old. These security systems were made of wood with the keys looking a bit like toothbrushes with a diagonal handle and pegs that corresponded with the lock. Other examples of this ancient type of lock have been found throughout the world such as in the Faroe Islands, Norway and Japan. It was also commonly used in Ancient Egypt. However, these systems were very flawed. They were easily broken, picked as most keys were almost exactly the same and only opened from one side. It was the Romans that gave us metal locks and keys or Ward Locks. Locks were typically made of iron and keys were usually brass. This made them more dura...

Emporiblog - Nova Explosion and Chaos

Image
Hello all! We're in for a massive amount of energy coming our way so, let's have a look at what's causing everything! Nova Explosion At some point between now and September (if it hasn't already happened) there will be a celestial explosion that will be briefly visible from Earth for about a week. We don't have a front row seat of course but what we will see is a really bright star that isn't normally visible. The explosion is taking place in the Corona Borealis constellation (between the Booties and Hercules constellations). Since the last recorded Star system nova was in 1946, I'd say that this is a rare event. Now, if you work with celestial, astronomical or chaos energy, you'll definitely want to harness this energy! I would also say that it can be used for baneful purposes as well since a star exploding would be quite a violent event. Eclipse Portal Since I've only recently come across this term, the timeframe is limited. The Lun...

Image
Hello all! Today we're going to have a peak into Knot Magick! What Is Knot Magick? Sometimes called, String Magick, Thread Magick or Cord Magick, Knot Magick is a form of spellcraft that involves tying knots into material with intention to form a spell, putting emphasis on focus and directing energy. Each folk tradition has their own method and meaning e.g the amount of knots used and knot placement  What is Knot Magick used for? Knot Magick can be used for any purpose though historically, it was seen as a way to cause sickness.  As this is mostly intention based, the possibilities are endless. Knot Magick is also a part of Stitch Witchery and Craft Witchery (featured here  Which Witch Are You? pt 5  ) Examples of Knot Magick The most known example of knot magick is the Witch's Ladder . Also called Witches' Ladder, Witches Ladder, Witch Ladder and W...
