Liminal Spaces.

Liminal Spaces.   One thing that seems to keep recurring during research is the term liminal space. It occurs when looking to work with certain deities, ancestors and others, especially this time of year. So, I went down a rabbit hole, and I hope this post can help answer any questions you may have, because I know that I had plenty! (One thing to note here is that, to me, time and space are pretty much the same thing, and those words will be used interchangeably throughout this post. As such, if I use one word and it does not sit right with you, change it for the other.) So, what is a liminal space? Sacred in Druidic practices, e ssentially, liminality is a point or spot where one thing becomes another, and the feelings that this evokes. It is the space and time between what is and what is yet to become. It is that split second between anticipation and potential in an action.     -     the edges of things     -     moving from one space to a...

Tarot Tuesday - Samhain Ancestor Communication Spread

Image
Hello all! Thanks to Kerenza, our posts for this month have been flowing so, let's continue down the Ancestor Communication route! This is a spread of my own creation, as I don't currently work with my ancestors I haven't been able to test it so any feedback would be appreciated! This is an 8 card spread designed to help you with your ancestor work and grow your connection to an ancestor. 1 - Message from your ancestor 2 - Guidance from your ancestor  3 - Warning from your ancestor  4 - The past 5 - Lesson from the past 6 - The present  7 - How to move forward  8 - Secondary message from ancestor  Second or even third cards can be drawn if the first card is unclear or if you have more questions for a specific section  I hope this spread is useful to someone, maybe one day I'll be able to use it myself! Blessings, C )0(

Ancestral Work (Part 2)

Ancestral work with herbs. Hi Guys, Yes, it's me again continuing our ancestral work mini-series with the follow-up as promised on herbs to use. As with all herbal work, if you plan to ingest them, seek medical advice first. As you gather your herbs (it doesn't matter if you are using fresh home-grown herbs, or store-bought dried ones) make sure that you speak your intentions to them, and connect to them. Keep stating your intentions during the workings, and express your thanks to the herbs for working with you in this. Herbs can be used internally, in foods, teas and tinctures; and externally, in baths, as an incense or an oil. You will know what works best for you, and consult a professional if in doubt. If you are seeking to do ancestral work, where possible, use herbs that your ancestors would have been familiar with or used, or if there is a particular plant or herb that you associate with them, then use that. Below is a list of general herbs and plants that can be used al...

Ancestral Work (part 1 )

Ancestral Communication and Work. Hi Guys, It's me again, as this is work that I have been actively doing, and Cat and I agreed that I would do this post for you. It seems to fit in well with the season. We have discussed this subject briefly in some other posts, such as Vivianite  (just use the search function and input ancestors or spirit work, and you will find the posts to read whichever ones shout at you, as there are too many mentions to put them in here). We discussed communication with spirits in a previous post but this is a lot more specific as it deals with our own flesh and blood. I do have a qualification in Ancestral Healing, so this is a precursor to any more in-depth posts that we may do in the future if you want them. The pic above is one I took recently when I felt the call to tend to the graves of my nan, and her mum, whose headstone is pictured above. As with a lot of practices, you can be as elaborate or as basic as you need.       ...
