Emporiblog - Broom Closet - Make Up Edition

Image
Hello all!! We're continuing with our Broom Closet series with some tips for you make up wearing people!! Disclaimer : I know that not everyone wears make up for a variety of reasons. If this post doesn't apply to you, I could still apply to someone you know! So, let's get to it..... Tip 1 Make Up is a brilliant way to use colour Magic and no one will think twice about it! Like all things in Magic, colours have properties and associations, which you can find more on here 👇🏻 👉🏻  Colour Magic This also applies to nail varnish... Tip 2 As you ready your foundation, you can draw protective symbols and runes with it, on to your face, before you blend it. As long as you know what the symbols and runes mean and respect them, you should feel the benefits of them! Since this is done with foundation, once you blend it, no one else will know they are there. Tip 3 Blend with intention! This fits into tips one and two as you need not only need to select colours and symbo...

Hello all!! Get ready for some festive, subtle tips that any Witch can do and that won't expose you if you're still in the Broom Closet! The festive season can be a trying time for some, with the Christianisation of traditions and the pressure to celebrate Christmas and other traditions of mainstream religions.  I would like to note that you can believe and celebrate whatever and however you like! However, some people don't have that luxury. Due to local laws or their living situations, some people have no choice but to celebrate what they are told to celebrate, regardless of their personal preferences. So, here are some tips and tricks to incorporate a little bit of invisible Witchery into this holiday season 😉 Tip 1 - Enchanting Decorations Some tips on enchanting objects here 👇🏻 Broom Closet - Continued Now, this one depends on how much time you have and how you usually decorate e.g decorate with family. Hello all! I'm back with some more Witch Closet Safety tips for those of you who still can't practice openly (hang in there! Your day will come!). Here's the link to Part 1 👇🏻 👉🏻  The Broom Closet - What To Do Just a quick recap for those who haven't heard of the term, read part 1 or don't have time to..... The Broom Closet is a term for Witchy folk who cannot practice openly due to their home environment or where they live. So I've come across a tip that I thought was worth sharing and that is.... Enchanting Jewellry!! What is Enchanting Jewellery? Enchanting Jewellry is where you charge, charm and enchant a specific piece of jewellery with a specific purpose/meaning.  How do I enchant my Jewellery? Here's how to do it: - Decide on an intention for your chosen item e.g protection, money luck etc.  - Choose a time and date that you feel will work best or you feel safest to do this - Cleanse your item. If you can't use Incense, smoke or Ca...

Emporiblog - The Broom Closet

Image
Hello all! Today's post is about something that I've only recently come across that I felt needed to be explored in further detail. By now, we're all familiar with the term of "coming out of the closet" which is considered a right of passage for those in the LGBTQ+ community so that they can finally take steps to becoming their most authentic selves. However, this isn't always something that can be done safely due to many factors in a persons environment. This is a plight shared by us in the Witchy community. As Witchcraft is still demonised and misunderstood it can be hard for Witches to practice openly or even tell people that they are a Witch, thus forcing us into what has been dubbed The Broom Closet . Reasons for being in the Broom Closet There are a few reasons why a Witch has to remain hidden for their own safety, which include:  - Family . A persons family are normally the most difficult to come out to especially if religion plays a big rol...

Emporiblog - Keep Your Black Cats Safe!

Image
Some readers may find this post upsetting as it contains brief references to animal harm. If you find this topic upsetting, please click away now. Hello everyone, Spooky Season is apon us and my favourite time of the year approaches however, this time of year is also a worrisome time for pet owners particularly those of us with Cats. Black Cats in particular are often targeted and/or stolen around this time due to the long lasting 'belief' that they are bad luck, which is utter NONSENSE  to put it politely. This 'belief' is still causing unnecessary harm and distress to both owners and pets so, here are some tips to help keep your Cats safe during this time... Tip 1 This one goes without saying but KEEP THEM INDOORS ! Especially at night and in the fortnight leading up to Halloween and Halloween itself. Make sure they're indoors before you go to bed and make sure they can't get out while you're asleep. Tip 2 Put protections on them. This can be d...
