September Space

Hello all! Let's have a little look at some of the celestial happenings in space this month, mostly with what's going on with the moon...


- On September 6th, a waning crescent moon 🌘 will meet Mars, reportedly around sunrise. The moon will be in the star sign Cancer ♋️ 

- September 8th, a still waning crescent moon 🌘 will meet Jupiter, again around sunrise. The moon will be in the star sign Leo ♌️ 

- September 9th-10th brings us the Epsilon Perseid meteor shower ☄️

‐ September 14th will give us a conjunction between the moon and Venus. The moon will be a waxing crescent 🌒 and a Libra ♎️/Scorpio ♏️ cusp

- On September 22nd, Venus will be at its brightest and most visible 

- September 23rd will give us a September equinox with day and night lasting roughly the same time 

- September 25th-26th, Neptune will be in opposition and visible...but you will need a telescope 🔭 

- September 26th-27th, coinciding with the full moon will give us a meeting with Saturn at sunset and the moon will be in Aries ♈️ 


Obviously, not everyone will be able to see this. Times will be different for every location and not every location will have the right visibility. Check with local sites to see what you can and cannot view.
